Take Two … 2017 On-line Food Drive

clapperOnce again, Always Best Care locations around the U.S. have teamed up with  www.YouGiveGoods.com to manage on-line food drives to benefit a number of great individual charities. Locally, we are working with the St. Vincent de Paul conference at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tampa, FL.  This effort will help augment the outstanding work this dedicated group already provides to hundreds of local families throughout the year.  During the holidays, many food banks/pantries are overwhelmed with requests.  Food drives, like this, are a great way to help meet the need and replenish the shelves after the Holidays.

Our goal is a simple 200 food items raised during December 2017, with delivery in time to help restock the shelves in early January.

Please consider making your on-line contribution to this effort that will help put food on the table of families who are in need.  Our site can be reached at:  https://yougivegoods.com/abc-tampabay-2017.

From all of us at Always Best Care, and at St. Vincent de Paul,

THANK YOU!

Cost of LTCRecently updated figures (emphasis, sadly, on “up”) from the annual Genworth Cost of Care Survey.

While every situation is unique and based on its own set of circumstances, note the potential cross-over point around $3,000 per month, where Assisted Living starts to make sense economically.  Certainly an aspect to weigh, but equally important are other medical, emotional and social considerations.  Always consider the complete scope of needs when making this important decision.

Meeting the Family Care Needs of Employees

1714-OverwhelmedMomPhone.220w.tnThe need to support workers who provide unpaid care for a family member is a growing reality for employers (large and small).  As the population grows older and life expectancies increase, the need will grow significantly for the next ten to twenty years.

As many as one in six full-time or part-time employees care for an elderly or disabled family member, according to a fairly recent Gallop poll.

The role of family caregivers involves everything from arranging or coordinating, services/support, to navigating the complex health care system, to performing actual care in the home — all while balancing workplace demands and responsibilities.

FL regions County w CitiesEmployers can help families save time and reduce stress – while improving workplace productivity, employee morale and loyalty – by connecting their employees with elder care resources through access to knowledgeable specialists and appropriate providers for family care services.

The Center for Elder Veterans Rights, PC is the independent law office of attorney Kristen Vanderkooi.  CFEVR is solely focused on assisting elderly and disabled Veterans and their Families to access disability entitlements administered under Title 38 of the United States Code.
We do not practice in any other field of law, be it elder, civil or criminal.  Our sole area of practice is administrative representation before the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Clients engage our services for two reasons: they want to know before a health care buying decision is made if (under Title 38 regulations) they qualify for VA disability benefits and if eligibility does apparently exist, assistance of a VA-accredited legal professional is preparing and prosecuting an effective benefit claim before the VA.
Our initial consultation is without fee or obligation. To obtain more information or ask specific questions pertaining to VA benefits or potential eligibility, call us at (615) 226-8600 or (800) 394-1250.
